An infrastructure dedicated to the characterization of bioresources: imaging, biochemistry and structure. The BIBS platform has been awarded the IBISA label and is ISO 9001 certified. It is open to academic research units and private users.

BIBS' expertise lies in the structural analysis of biopolymers, as well as in multi-scale and multimodal imaging and data processing (spectra and images), and applies to systems of agronomic or agricultural origin in the broadest sense (terrestrial or marine plants, plant tissues or organs, food matrices, foods, bio-based materials, etc.).

Specifically, the approaches developed enable:

  • identification and quantification of biopolymers
  • analysis of their fine structure (polysaccharides and proteins)
  • phenotyping of bioresources based on the chemical and structural characteristics of their walls
  • multi-modal and multi-scale imaging of systems
  • study of molecular dynamics and interactions between biopolymers

Techniques

The platform has top-level scientific equipment and expertise in four analytical fields: mass spectrometry, microscopy, NMR and chemical phenotyping. It is supported by a dedicated bioinformatics group.
