RESILICIDRE

ACTIA Praises the RESILICIDRE UMT: Research aimed at building a more resilient cider industry

After five years of collaborative research—the results of which ACTIA deemed highly satisfactory—RESILICIDRE is paving the way for a new Joint Technology Unit dedicated to the adaptation of the cider industry.

As part of the long-standing partnership with the French Institute for Cider Production (IFPC), the 4th Cider Research Cluster (UMT), RESILICIDRE, came to an end this summer. Over the past five years, the PRP team in particular—as well as the PVPP, ELIPS, and MC2 teams at BIA—have conducted collaborative research with the IFPC as part of several national and European projects exploring the diversity and reactivity of polyphenols in cider apple juices and the valorization of cider byproducts.

In its audit on June 24, ACTIA described the results as very satisfactory. A new project designed to build on this momentum and support the sector’s adaptation to climate change and the reduction of inputs is currently being developed: the UMT ADAPTACIDRE!
